BARLEYTHORPE IN BLOOM and CLIMATE CHANGE ACTION

Climate Change Action

Are you concerned about climate change and its impact on our planet? Do you want to take action and help reduce your carbon footprint? Do you love nature and trees? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you might be interested in joining Barleythorpe Climate Change Action!

Barleythorpe Climate Change Action is a group of volunteers who work together to combat climate change and its effects in Barleythorpe. We are part of the Woodland Trust’s Big Climate Fightback campaign, which aims to plant 50 million trees across the UK by 2025. Our goal is to plant three new woods in and around Barleythorpe, which will provide habitat for wildlife, improve air quality, store carbon, and enhance the landscape.

We are always looking for new members who can help us with our projects, such as planting saplings, protecting existing trees, raising awareness, and fundraising. No experience or skills are required, just passion and commitment. We provide all the tools and materials you need, as well as training and support from our knowledgeable and friendly team.

We will be meeting 1st Wednesday of the month at 10 am, starting in Oct at the Kings Centre, where we organize our activities and share information. We also have social events throughout the year, such as walks, talks, and workshops. Joining Barleythorpe Climate Change Action is a great way to make a positive difference, learn new things, and meet like-minded people.
